A Letter About SendItHome

Hey there, everyone:

My name is Dodge Story, and I created SendItHome in 2008 for one reason - to help people out. In my experience, people have a tendency to have a multitude of files with very few ways to transport them around. When I created SenditHome, the goal was simple: to provide an easy, one-click way to make sure that your files are where they need to be. Since then, SendItHome has become an extremely popular service, and as such, I haven't had the ability to handle all of the traffic.

I've made several changes to the infrastructure of SendItHome. It should now be able to handle everything that you guys can throw at it. However, this has come at a cost to me. Let me be clear: SendItHome will never be a paid service. I have no plans to require payment for sending files. That violates the spirit of this project. However, I do have two changes that I'm going to be making.

First of all, beginning this year, you'll begin to see advertisements across SendItHome. They won't be intrusive, and they're going to be served through Google AdSense. They should cover SendItHome for the most part. You've also got the option to support SendItHome directly by donating. When SendItHome Accounts launch later this year, a donation will make your account advertisement-free permanently. You'll also get your name (and if you have one, your website) featured on SendItHome.
